Our School from Chicago, USA, makes a week-long visit to Greece, and particularly to Piraeus. The Olympiacos U16 Naperville team along with other players, coaches, and the Director of Operations, Mr. John Kosmas, arrived at “El. Venizelos” on Monday night, March 28, 2016.  Olympiacos had prepared an incredible welcome – one rightfully fit for any and all Olympiacos family members!

Leone, the Olympiacos mascot, and players along with parents and supporters from ‘Sweet Waters Academy’ provided a superb welcome to the members of the Chicago group.

Players from Chicago brought with them the trophy they won last year and endeared a loud applause and a big hug from Leone. The Head of ‘Sweet Water Olympiacos School,’ Mr. George Kalogerakos, handed a bouquet to his counterpart, Yannis Kosmas,  and all the children along with Leone were photographed at the airport. What a memorable experience that will linger on!

Mr. Vasilis Nanos, Director of Schools, was also present at the warm reception and provided a summary of the weekly program, which included guided tours, training in Rendi, friendly games with the Academy and other schools, and many visits to Athens and Piraeus.

The Olympiacos School Network proved once again what a great and close-knit family it is – Actions do speak louder than words! For this reason, year after year, the number of players joining the Olympiacos family increases – the goals of learning soccer skills, but most importantly building the character needed to be a successful soccer player, is so evident!
